Getting Started[top]

What are the system requirements for using your site?

Supported Operating Systems:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista

  • MAC OS X 10.5 or higher

  • Internet Explorer 8+ (excluding IE10 in the pre-beta format)
  • Chrome 7+

Getting your music is easy:

  1. Go to www.billboardmusicstore.com
  2. Enter your code where it says "Enter PIN & hit Enter"
  3. Select music and add to cart
  4. Register for an account (link at top of page) and click "Download All" in your cart, or just click "Download All" and enter your email address and ZIP code then hit "Send"
  5. Your music will be downloaded automatically in the form of a single .ZIP file.

How do I obtain my Code balance?

The balance remaining on your code will be provided to you upon entering your promotional code. You can enter your code at any point into the pin code box to find out how many credits you have available. If you have multiple Codes, select the multiple code entry icon to the left of the PIN code field.

Or, if you are logged into the site, your code balance will in the cart at the top of the site.

Downloads[top]

Nothing happens when I try to download.

After making your selection(s), you will be provided with specific instructions to launch the download manager; please follow these carefully.

I lost my internet connection/closed my browser /my computer restarted while I was downloading. What do I do?

If you lost your internet connection temporarily, click Retry on the download manager once your connection is restored. Your download should resume from where it stopped. If not, please contact the help desk.

I clicked the "Don't Trust" option while starting the download manager on my MAC. I cannot download my files. What should I do?

If you are still on the page, click the "Error. Click for details" link and select the "reload" option. This will reload the download manager. If you are still having difficulties, please contact customer service with your PIN Code and the information for the track or album that you were trying to download and one of our customer service representatives will assist you in obtaining your music.

I can't find my files. Where are they saved on my computer?

For PC users, downloaded files are saved to the "My Music" folder by default. On the MAC, the default download folder is "Music". If you still cannot find your files, you can search your computer by specifying the name of the artist or track you just downloaded. On a PC, click on "Start" and then select "Search". If you are using a MAC, simply enter the name into Spotlight.

My song is cut off or of poor quality, what should I do?

If you identify any quality issues such as skips or noises with a music file, please contact the Help Desk by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.

How many times can I download the music I have purchased?

MP3 files are available for download only once.

Are there any restrictions on how I use the music files?

Our MP3 files contain no restrictions. They can be played on all MP3-compatible media players and portable devices.

Are the music downloads compatible with all portable players?

Our music downloads are offered in MP3 format. MP3 format files are compatible with all devices, including the iPod™.

What players can be used to play and burn music I have downloaded?

We recommend Windows Media Player and iTunes. If you do not have a media player installed on your computer, you can download Windows Media Player or iTunes free of charge.

I can't find the music I'm looking for on the site, can I make a request?

We are constantly adding to our music library. We get new music files into our system every week, so if you can't find what you're looking for, we suggest you try searching our site again in a few weeks' time. Unfortunately, we cannot honor any specific requests. Song availability is based on each artist’s and label’s agreement to participate is the specific promotion.
